Brown's Automotive Experts auto repair shops provide complete auto air conditioning services and repairs for Albuquerque and Rio Rancho. Whether your vehicle is blowing insufficient amount of cold air, whether it's blowing warm air, or if its a/c system is not blowing any air at all, our highly skilled technicians can diagnose and repair the problem. When we think of auto a/c system problems, we usually think of refrigerant issues – either a major leak, or a slow leak that at some point leaves refrigerant level too low to provide proper cooling. But there are many other parts of the system that can cause auto a/c problems – blower motor, relays, hoses, ac condenser, ambient temperature sensor, heater core, a/c evaporator, a/c compressor, and of course, the a/c control module – any one of these parts can fail, causing auto air conditioning problems. Fortunately, we not only employ highly trained technicians, but we also equip them with latest in diagnostic to ... read more

Catalytic converters have no moving parts, so they are less prone to failure than mechanical devices, and computerized emission control systems "tune up" engines in real time, lowering the probability of catalytic converter damage. Unfortunately, high prices of precious metals that are used in the manufacture of catalytic converters (platinum or rhodium) make them tempting targets for thieves. Practiced thief needs less than a minute to steal a catalytic ... read more

The check engine light is part of your car's onboard diagnostics system that monitors and controls various subsystems of your vehicle. Computers control, in real time, fuel mixture, ignition timing, and many other parameters. Sensors monitor emissions, and send information back to the computers. The check engine light comes on when the computer detects a situation it cannot resolve by varying different parameters under its control. In addition to illuminating the check engine light, your onboard computer will, most likely, store a “trouble code” in the long term memory. The trouble code is a sign post – it tells professionals which subsystems need to be investigated in order to find out the cause of the problem. For example code P300 indicates misfires on one or more cylinders. But it does not tell you what is the cause of the misfire. So professionals have to perform diagnostics to find out what might be causing the problem – in the case of the engine misf ... read more

Even though it’s been more than a decade since its introduction, many auto repair shops still do not offer auto air conditioning R1234YF refrigerant. Brown’s Automotive Experts, Albuquerque’s premier auto repair shops, offer full range of auto ac services and repairs, including R-1234YF recharge. R-1234YF was specially designed to be more environmentally friendly than the old R134a refrigerant. For your convenience, our Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Village of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, and Northeast Heights facilities offer both R134a and R-1234YF refrigerants and have the equipment necessary to perform auto ac refrigerant recharge. R134a is still found in many older vehicles, while R1234YF is prevalent in newer cars. The refrigerants are not interchangeable, hence the need for new equipment to service vehicles that use R1234YF. If you wonder if your vehicle uses the new refrigerant, it’s best to consult your Owner’s Handbook. You may ... read more
